MIC WARS 2 | RODE PROCASTER vs. SHURE SM7B w/Bass Roll-off & Presence Boost

The Rode Procaster dynamic microphone vs. The Shure SM7B dynamic microphone vs.

In this corner we have the Rode Procaster broadcast quality dynamic microphone. It has a frequency response of 75Hz to 18KHz and a price tag of $230

And in this corner we have the legendary Shure SM7b dynamic microphone. It has a frequency response of 50Hz to 20KHz and a price tag of $400.
The SM7b has a flat frequency response, but it also has two switches to engage a bass roll off and a mid-range or presence boost. We will test every possible combination in this battle.

Both of these dynamic microphones require a lot of gain! A minimum of 60db. So we will use a Cloudlifter CL-2 as our mic preamp.
In this battle I will read “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe and seamlessly switch between the microphones.
Who will win this epic battle?
Rode vs. Shure, dynamic vs dynamic, TITAN VS. TITAN!
Let’s start…
THE MIC WAR!
Once the MIC WAR begins, the microphone or audio track you see on-screen is the microphone you are hearing.
