Is the Plugin Alliance MEGA Bundle really the New Gold Standard for plugin subscriptions?
Plugin Alliance has released two new subscription plans. You can subscribe for $249.99/year or $24.99/month.
If you happen to own several Plugin Alliance full licenses, then you probably received a “HEAVY HITTER” discount code via email. Your Heavy Hitter discount will be based on how many full licenses you own.
For example, I own around 40 Plugin Alliance full licenses so, my price is $179.99/year or 16.99/month.
Currently, the MEGA Bundle will give you access to over 109 plugins, with more coming over the next month (August 2019) and for years to come.
I’ve never been a fan of subscriptions for plugins or DAWs, or software in general. I have always preferred to own my software so I know I can always use it even if I missed a payment.
However, this subscription plan deserves another look.

Let’s breakdown the price of the Plugin Alliance MEGA Bundle subscription. I’ll be using 109 as the number of plugins because that’s the number that is availible today as of this writing. The number will be higher in only a few more days, so your effective price PER PLUGIN will be LOWER than the info-graphics provided here.
We’ll analyze per year, per month, per week, per day, and per plugin! We’ll do the math!

Effective HEAVY HITTER Prices
As a Heavy Hitter you already own several plugins, so your actual price per plugin will be different since you already have access to several plugins.
For example, if you own 40 Plugin Alliance plugins, when you subscribe you will be getting access to an additional 69 plugins (assuming a total of 109 plugins, and assuming you don’t sell any full license)
If we instead assume access to an additional 69 plugins and not the full 109, our prices would look like this:

The actual price you are paying will depend on how many Plugin Alliance plugins you own. So do the math based around the number of plugins you own.
Also, while subscribed, you will have access to ALL new plugins added to the MEGA Bundle. This will also drop your effective price per plugin.
