The Gator FrameWorks Desk Mounted Pro Broadcast Boom Arm is a new entry into the mic arm world.
At a price point of $129 (US) they are priced similarly to another popular mic arm, the Rode PSA1.
The FrameWorks arm is very nice. It’s not a scissor arm, so it looks clean, and the cable (which is included) is contained within the arm.
It’s spring-loaded, has tension knobs (so you can lock it down), and is very quiet when you adjust it.
It will come with two different mounts, a standard desk clamp, and a screw-in permanent mount.
This mic arm can hold HEAVY mics, up to 3.5 pounds, so the SHURE SM7B, RODE PROCASTER, RODE BROADCASTER, etc… are no problem for this arm.
Overall, it’s a great looking, stable, quiet, and high quality arm.
It does cost more than the popular RODE PSA1 by about $30, but it may be worth it if you prefer a non-scissor arm with a cleaner look. It’s possibly the best mic arm in the under $300 range.
