MIC WARS | Zoom H6 X/Y Mic vs. Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic

MIC WARS | Zoom H6 X/Y vs. MXL 2008

MIC WARS! The Zoom H6 XY mic vs the MXL 2008

The Zoom H6 is a self-contained recorder, but you can also use it as a USB microphone and an audio interface. The XY stereo condenser mic capsule will be used for this video.

The MXL 2008 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone with a frequency response of 30Hz-20KHz. It is an XLR microphone, and requires phantom power.

We will test these microphones on voice for applications such as podcasts, voice-over, YouTube videos, etc…

You will hear several samples from different distances. There are raw samples and processed samples. The processed samples use iZotope Nectar 2.

The ZOOM H6 X/Y microphone capsule uses two angled unidirectional mics which are sensitive to signals coming from the front but less to signals coming from the sides and rear
