Best Service – DARK HORIZON by SonuScore – Reviewed

DARK HORIZON

Building upon the award winning success of ELYSION and THE ORCHESTRA, Best Service and Sonuscore have teamed up again to bring cinematic, cosmic darkness to Native Instruments KONTAKT (or Kontakt Player) with the release of DARK HORIZON.

Dark Horizon is focused on darker sounds, bass sounds, and cosmic rhythms. It’s built on the ELYSION engine, so if you happen to have that, you will instantly know how Dark Horizon operates.

With Dark Horizon you can layer up to 4 different sounds and animate them with 4 different arpeggiators and the Motion engine. You can play complex rhythms and sequences with a single finger or chord.

A full array of FX and built-in, as well as a full Mixer.

You can also easily export the MIDI generated from the Arp/Rhythm-Steppers and use it with other Kontakt or even non-Kontakt virtual instrument plugins – which saves tons of time.

Dark Horizon is a great addition to your Kontakt collection and fits right in with other libraries. Use it for cinematic tracks, movie scores, sound beds for TV shows, atmospheric tracks, and more.

In the video below we’ll go over each parameter of the interface, and demo some of the presets.

Then, we’ll have a layered demo using multiple instances of Dark Horizon and The Orchestra Complete 2 so you can get an idea of how Dark Horizon sounds in a full mix.
